Exciting news for families and downtown visitors – the long-anticipated Bonita Springs splash pad at Banyan Tree Square is one step closer to becoming reality.

Temporary construction fencing has officially gone up around the Banyan Tree Square parcel across from Riverside Park, a strong sign that groundbreaking is near for the new downtown splash pad project.

An Inside Look at The Bonita Springs Splash Pad at Banyan Tree Square

Last February, Bonita Springs City Council awarded Wright Construction Group the task of designing the Banyan Tree Square Splash Pad. After months of planning, on February 19th, Wright Construction presented a breathtaking final design to the City Council, which was unanimously approved.

This stunning splash pad will be the new jewel of Banyan Tree Square, right across from Riverside Park. Kids will delight in the water jets on warm days, while families relax in shaded pavilions. As night falls, the splash pad will transform with vibrant LED lights, adding magic to Bonita Springs’ evening charm.

The design includes:

• A large interactive splash pad water feature

• Shaded pavilions and seating areas for families

• A new paved walking path surrounding the splash pad

• A full landscaping overhaul with tropical plantings

• LED uplighting throughout the park

• Decorative lighting for the historic Banyan tree

• Additional public parking and restroom facilities

Just this week, Wright Construction took a big step – they’ve put up a fence around the parcel, signaling that groundbreaking is right around the corner!

We’ve been following this project since 2023, and seeing it come to life is truly thrilling. Banyan Tree Square, once dark at night, will soon be a beacon in Bonita Springs.
