In North Naples, there’s been buzz about a sleek, members-only beach club called Paraiso Beach Club that could transform beachfront access and local vibes—if it gets the green light.
What’s Being Planned
The proposed site is a 1.35-acre stretch along Gulf Shore Drive, just north of LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort. Right now, it’s zoned for single-family residential use, which doesn’t allow commercial ventures. The plan is to rezone to match LaPlaya’s residential-tourist zoning and get a conditional use permit to allow the beach club work.
If approved, Paraiso Beach Club would include:
-
A multistory clubhouse with restaurant and bar.
-
A pool and direct beach access.
-
Amenities like wellness, outdoor dining, and possibly events.
-
Shuttle service for members to help reduce traffic.
The developers are projecting an opening around mid-2027, assuming approvals go through.
What’s at Stake / What People Think
Pros:
-
For residents, this could mean a more upscale, private spot to unwind, avoiding some of the congestion at more public beaches.
-
Potential for property values in the area to get a boost.
-
The developers are emphasizing blending with the surroundings and preserving the beach access and character.
Concerns:
-
Hard to ignore are the issues around traffic, parking, and whether this private club will limit public access to the beach.
-
There’s also the zoning hurdle: changing a residential zone into a more commercial use always opens up debate.
Where It Stands Now
The County’s Planning Commission has already given a thumbs up to the rezoning / conditional use petitions.
Next up: the Collier County Commissioners will vote on it (last report was they were scheduled for an Oct. 14 meeting).
