Bonita Springs City Council Approves Downtown Food Truck Park

  • Reading time:1 mins read

A new food truck park in Downtown Bonita Springs was just approved by City Council.

The park will be situated at 27333 Old 41 Road, right across from Engel’s Bicycles. There will be room for 8 food trucks, anchored by a 2-story bar with restrooms and seating. A playground with mist wall is also shown in the project plans.

A 25 space parking lot will also be built on the empty parcel immediately South of Riverside Park, where the farmer’s market runs on Wednesdays. The farmers market expects to continue operation.

The project site is currently city-owned. Last year, City Council allowed for project submissions on several city-owned lots. The city would then sell the lots to the developers with the best plans.

This particular lot will be sold to the developer for $425,000.

The developer, Magnus Family Investments, expects the project to cost about $3 million, and take roughly 2 years to complete.

Prior to construction, the city will have to rezone the property and execute a formal sale contract with the developer.
