Sports Challenge America to Replace Former Dog Track in Bonita Springs | Updated 4.28.23

Sports Challenge America opened quietly last night!

Sports Challenge America, a first-of-its-kind sports complex, is taking the place of the former dog track in Bonita Springs. Magic City Casino and PBS Contractors broke ground on the 5-acre indoor-outdoor facility on March 29th.

The indoor portion of Sports Challenge America will consist of a 10,400 square foot building. Inside, visitors will find a variety of sports simulators, including golf, shooting, and tennis, along with six bowling lanes. The fun continues outside with a basketball court, par-3 golf hole, plus mini football, and baseball facilities. After working up an appetite, visitors can grab a bite to eat at Sports Challenge America’s kitchen and bar.

So what makes Sports Challenge America the first of its kind? Visitors will have the ability to wager on their sports skills. There will be a hole-in-one challenge, basketball shooting activities, as well as baseball pitching, field goal kicking, and football throwing challenges! The concept is simple; pay a small fee to bet that you will make a halfcourt shot, hole-in-one, etc., and get paid big bucks if you do! This unique approach gives players a chance to bet on their own physical abilities while abiding by state sports betting laws.

Magic City Casino currently owns the entire 100-acre property on the corner of Bonita Beach Road and Old 41. The site includes the Bonita Springs Poker Room and Brass Tap which opened in 2020. Developers have submitted proposals for the remaining 85 acres. However, the city has not accepted anything yet.

The Sports Challenge America estimated completion date is April 2023. To stay up to date on this project and other potential developments, sign up for our newsletter!
