BREAKING: Germain Arena Soon To Be Hertz Arena

  • Reading time:2 mins read

Germain Arena is getting a new name and new look, and the changes could be coming sooner than anyone expected.

Hertz recently signed an agreement with the Florida Everblades, that will rename Germain Arena to Hertz Arena. To accompany the new name, Hertz plans to paint the interior and exterior bright yellow.

With any big change like this, come controversy. As you could imagine, not everyone wants such a prominent, bright, yellow building in their town. For this reason, the Village of Estero will vote on this issue on September 26th, 2018.

After taking a drive by the soon-to-be Hertz Arena, it looks like they’re also doing massive renovations inside. There were dozens of moving trucks on the property, as well as some construction trucks.

Hertz, an Estero-based rental car company, also just celebrated their 100th anniversary. On Wednesday, September 19th, Hertz CEO, Kathryn Marinello rang the closing bell for the New York Stock Exchange.

In October’s e-newsletter, we’ll be covering the Village of Estero’s vote on the Hertz Arena paint scheme. Click Here to subscribe and stay on top of this exciting change!
