UPDATE: September 6th, 2018 – Ceremony Brewery recently backed out of their contract to lease the building attached to the Everglades Wonder Gardens. The City of Bonita Springs will now begin another search for a new tenant.

Since the completion of the downtown Bonita Springs renovations, more businesses and investors are interested in the area than ever before. On the downtown strip of Old 41 Road alone, there is a new leasing community being built, as well as a mixed-use building proposal. Both of these would have restaurant and retail space, and be home to countless local businesses.
The Twisted Tangle Cafe, as you might recall, was a BBQ joint located in the building attached to The Everglades Wonder Gardens on Old 41 Road. A few months ago, the restaurant had to close it’s doors, and the space has sat vacant ever since.
A new, local brewery now has it’s eye on the location, and has begun the process of securing a lease. Since the City of Bonita Springs owns the Everglades Wonder Gardens and the building attached to it, any new business will have to be approved by the City Council. Fortunately, it sounds like most Council Members are on-board with the brewery.
Ceremony Brewery, owned by Zachary Smith of Bonita Springs, is a ‘one-stop-shop’ brewery that focuses on all aspects of brewing craft beers. Ceremony will offer a bottle shop, taproom, brew supply store, educational courses and more.
Smith says that, if all goes smoothly, the brewery could be open as soon as the end of the year.
He is able to finance most of the costs associated with opening the brewery, and is asking for donations to help fund the remainder.
