There’s no better place to celebrate Independence Day than historic downtown Bonita Springs.
From one of Southwest Florida’s most beloved hometown parades to live music, local restaurants, family-friendly festivities, and an incredible fireworks finale, downtown Bonita Springs comes alive every Fourth of July. Whether you’re a longtime local or visiting for the holiday weekend, here’s everything you need to know before heading downtown.

A Beloved Bonita Springs Tradition
Long before downtown Bonita Springs became the vibrant destination it is today, local firefighters were bringing the community together every Fourth of July.
Hosted by the Bonita Springs Professional Firefighters Local 3444, the annual Independence Day Parade has become one of the city’s most cherished traditions. Year after year, the firefighters volunteer countless hours organizing the event, bringing together local businesses, community organizations, first responders, veterans, and residents for a celebration that truly captures the spirit of Bonita Springs.
Of course, no Bonita Springs Fourth of July would be complete without the parade’s most famous tradition—the legendary water fight.
As fire trucks roll down Old 41, firefighters spray the crowd with hoses while thousands of spectators come armed with water guns, turning the parade into one giant community-wide splash battle. It’s become a uniquely Bonita Springs tradition that families look forward to every year.

The Fourth of July Parade
The parade steps off at 9:00 a.m. along Old 41, traveling between Kentucky Street and Rosemary Drive. This year’s theme, “Small Town, Big Spirit,” perfectly captures what makes this celebration so special.
Expect decorated floats, patriotic displays, first responders, local businesses, community groups, classic vehicles, and plenty of opportunities to cool off along the route.
Parade Tips
- Bring chairs for curbside seating.
- Expect to get wet.
- Wear sunscreen and stay hydrated.
- Arrive early, as downtown fills up quickly.
- Support the local businesses that help make downtown Bonita Springs such a special place.
