At Craft Spirits Social, their mission is simple: to connect people with exceptional spirits and the makers who craft them.
For more than 20 years, founder Beth Hurwitz, worked in the bottle and wares industry, building relationships with distillers across the country. Over and over again, she heard the same frustration: getting bottles into retail shops was difficult, and even when they made it onto shelves, they often sat unnoticed. The real story โ the passion, craft, and artistry behind each spirit โ was rarely told.
The reality is that theย three-tier systemย makes it incredibly challenging for independent distillers to reach customers. Distribution hurdles, limited shelf space, and a lack of education in traditional retail all contribute to incredible small-batch spirits flying under the radar.
Craft Spirits Social was created to change that. Their retail shop, bar, and events give distillers a platform where their stories are told, their spirits are highlighted, and customers can truly engage with what makes each bottle special. Through guided tastings, curated cocktails, and hands-on education, they help guests not only discover new favorites but also understand the craftsmanship and passion that brought them to life.
And hereโs the best part: craft spirits often outshine the big-name brands, offering richer flavors, better ingredients, and a level of craftsmanship mass production canโt match. Theyโre made in smaller batches, with more attention to detail and an artistry that canโt be replicated by mass production. A Swampy, Immersive Interior โ Art Meets Atmosphere
One of the standout features of Craft Spirits Social will be its interior art, created by local muralist Summer DeSalvo. The space has been transformed into a Florida swamp scene โ with cypress trees, sawgrass, and yes, alligators. This immersive theme is meant to root the bar in place and story, evoking a sense of local identity and lush, subtle drama.
The mural is more than decoration โ it invites guests to linger and to feel as though their tasting experience is enveloped in place and memory.
Entrada Plaza
Entrada Plaza is shaping up to be a hub of thoughtful, locally driven businesses in downtown Bonita. Itโs home to boutique shops, artisan food spots, and creative ventures. As Downtown Bonita Springs embraces a renaissance of sorts, Craft Spirits Social will join the wave of new concepts reinvigorating the downtown experience.ย
The second-floor location gives the bar a bit of separation and intimacy โ it will feel elevated both literally and figuratively. As construction continues, the team is working to ensure that the layout, lighting, and acoustics all contribute to a warm, approachable, and elegant vibe.
