It should come as a surprise to no one, that Southwest Florida is becoming more and more poplar by the year. People are moving here for a variety of reasons, from the warm climate, to lower taxes and more job opportunities. As folks continue to flock in, housing demand rises which, in turn, causes prices to rise.

Data from Southwest Florida MLS.

Over the past few months, Southwest Florida has seen record-breaking sale prices. In May of 2019, the median sale price throughout the region was $300,000! That’s a whopping 5% higher than the median sale price in 2018, 7% higher than the 2017 median and 10% higher than the 2016 median. This trend has steadily continued, bouncing between $290,000 and $300,000 over the past several months.

*Note: we use median and not average, because averages can be skewed by abnormally high sale prices.*
