Drive I-75 between Naples, Bonita Springs and south FortMyers? Tomorrow is an opportunity to learn about proposed changes and make your voice heard.
The Florida Department of Transportation is hosting an in-person public hearing on Tuesday, October 27, to discuss auxiliary-lane capacity improvements within the I-75 widening project between Golden Gate Parkway and Alico Road. Residents can review project materials, hear a presentation and share comments directly with the project team.
Whether you commute along this stretch, regularly use its entrance and exit ramps, or live nearby, this is a chance to bring your questions and share your everyday experience.
When and Where
- Date: Tuesday, October 27, 2026
- Open house: 4–4:30 p.m. to review project materials
- Presentation and public comments: Begin at 4:30 p.m.
- Location: Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church, 1225 Piper Boulevard, Naples
What’s Being Discussed?
The broader, approximately 21-mile project includes proposed express lanes, auxiliary lanes, interchange improvements and resurfacing. Tomorrow’s hearing specifically focuses on auxiliary-lane capacity improvements.
Auxiliary lanes connect an entrance ramp to the next exit ramp, allowing drivers making shorter trips to stay out of the main flow of interstate traffic. They are intended to reduce the need for merging and weaving between exits.
Think about where you encounter difficult merges, backups or challenges getting on and off the interstate. Bringing specific locations and examples can help make your feedback clear and useful.
A Note for Residents Concerned About Noise
FDOT says noise-wall information will not be included in this hearing and will be provided separately when available. Residents attending specifically for updates on proposed sound barriers should keep that distinction in mind.
Can’t Attend Tomorrow? You Can Still Participate
A virtual hearing will take place Wednesday, October 28, at 6 p.m. through Microsoft Teams. Register for the virtual hearing here.
You can also submit comments through the FDOT project webpage or email Melody.Joyner@dot.state.fl.us. Comments must be received or postmarked by November 10, 2026, to become part of the formal hearing record. FDOT says all comment methods are weighed equally.
You don’t have to be a transportation expert to participate. If you use this stretch of I-75, your experience is worth sharing. Take a look at the plans, ask questions and use this opportunity to have your concerns and priorities included in the conversation.
