HoneyHole: A Buzz-Worthy Downtown Bonita Springs Gathering Place in the Making

  • Reading time:4 mins read

Another new project is quietly generating buzz in Downtown Bonita Springs – and while details are still emerging, HoneyHole is already shaping up to be another thoughtful addition to the city’s evolving core.

Led by Kyle Moran and Moran Kennedy, HoneyHole represents the next chapter in a series of projects focused on creating vibrant, community-centered spaces downtown, including Sugarshack Downtown and Project Telephone.  HoneyHole Downtown, previously known as Project Roundabout, is shaping up to be more than just a restaurant or live music venue. While plans are still taking shape, the name alone hints at Moran’s continued emphasis on places that feel authentic, welcoming, and worth discovering – the kind of spots people return to again and again.

What We Know So Far

HoneyHole Downtown is about layering experiences. It’s not just a great restaurant, jaw-dropping live music, dynamic bars, or immersive merchant spaces – it’s all of that, woven together in a way that feels intimate from the outside, but expansive and enchanting on the inside. Imagine stepping into a space that surprises at every turn: courtyards, sightlines, and hidden corners that invite discovery and connection.

The project takes inspiration from nature and the downtown setting. The site preserves an iconic tree, the majestic mahogany that towers over the roundabout, which will remain a landmark of the space. Kyle Moran explains: “When you build around great trees, people slow down. And when people slow down, they start discovering new experiences – and one another. That’s how community is built.”

HoneyHole will balance operational scale with human-scale intimacy. From the street, it should feel approachable and comfortable, yet behind the scenes, it will have the flexibility and capacity to support great dining, live music, and immersive experiences – enough seats, stages, and energy to keep the space alive every night without losing its soul.

Family-friendly design is also central. HoneyHole will include an immersive play experience for children so parents can relax, enjoy the music, and connect with others. Every detail, from sightlines to courtyards, has been carefully choreographed to encourage social connection without forcing it.

The name itself is meaningful. Some associate a “honey hole” with a fishing spot where the fish always bite – a secret, special place that delivers. It can also reference a hive within a tree, buzzing with life. Both interpretations reflect Honey Hole’s mission: to be a hidden gem of Downtown Bonita Springs where people come together, connect, and return again and again.

Construction & Leasing Update

The lot for HoneyHole has just been cleared, and construction is set to begin, marking the transition from vision to reality. IPC of Naples is actively marketing the spaces and seeking experienced restaurant operators to bring chef-driven concepts and new experiences to downtown.

Why It Matters

HoneyHole is part of Moran Kennedy’s broader vision to activate Downtown Bonita Springs without erasing its charm. The project complements Sugarshack Downtown and Project Telephone, creating the critical mass that transforms downtown into a destination for residents and visitors alike. Moran describes it as activation rather than gentrification: “Where there was nothing, no business, no jobs, no attraction, we are building something. The goal isn’t to erase what Bonita Springs is — it’s to build it and amplify it.”

By designing around nature, community, and discovery, HoneyHole is expected to become a hub for memorable experiences: dining, live music, festivals, and special moments that people talk about for years. Moran sums it up: “When someone walks into HoneyHole Downtown for the first time, I hope they feel surprised — in the best way. Welcomed. Curious. Comfortable. And I hope that years from now, when people think about their favorite memories, experiences at Honey Hole Downtown are part of that story.”

Honey Hole Downtown isn’t just a project — it’s a vision for the future of Downtown Bonita Springs, blending immersive experiences, community, and nature to create a place people will want to return to night after night.
