Revana Lakes is a brand-new, luxury, community that Seagate Development Group is proposing to build along Bonita Beach Road. This proposal is still in the very early stages and awaiting many levels of approval. We’ve got your first look at development plans and will keep you up-to-date as this project progresses.

The Location

The 204-acre subject property for this development is located off of Bonita Beach Road, across from Worthington and Palmira. The property was purchased by Seagate in 2020. Now, the developer is seeking approval to redesignate the property from “Density Reduction Groundwater Resource” (DR/GR), “Resource Protection” and “Wetlands” future land use categories to “Urban Fringe Community” and “Resource Protection.” It is worth noting that the land Bonita National and Valencia were built on once had the same future use designations.

Revana Lakes Homes & Amenities

If approved, Seagate Development will be one step closer to breaking ground on Revana Lakes. The current proposal features single-family, villas and multifamily dwellings, totalling 299 units. Homes in this luxury community will have price points from $2 to $6 Million. Models have not been unveiled yet, but Seagate presented the following collage of architectural inspiration at a recent city council meeting.

The proposal also includes a clubhouse with a fitness center, golf simulator, putting green, fire pit, children’s splash pad, playground, resort pool, and outdoor bar.

Environmental Concerns & Solutions

Part of this parcel was formerly a limestone mine which has now filled with water. Seagate plans to reroute collected stormwater into this mine which will eventually empty out into the Kehl Canal. According to the developer, “the routing of treated stormwater into the historic limestone pits prior to entering the Kehl Canal will promote and greatly enhance recharge potential to the Water Table Aquifer.” Seagate also plans to use collected ground and stormwater for irrigation. This in addition to adding more lakes is expected to improve the natural flow of water.

Looking Forward

The future of Revana Lakes is still to be decided. Seagate Development and the City of Bonita Springs are currently working on density restriction issues, so the current plans for 299 units will likely be downsized.
