For some time, rumors about a food truck park coming to Bonita Springs have been circulating the city. Though the city council held talks about the possibility of development, nothing ever came to fruition, until now. At a meeting this month, the council unanimously decided to move forward with the purchase and sales agreement for the Rooftop at Riverside. At the meeting, the council accepted the letter of intent from Rooftop at Riverside, LLC. The City Attorney has been asked to negotiate the terms of the purchase which would include parking provisions at both the Banyan Tree and Lemon Lot Parcels.
This is a huge step in the right direction, but the project is not fully approved just yet! The preliminary terms of the agreement begin with a 15 month entitlement period. This period will grant Rooftop at Riverside, LLC the exclusive rights to purchase the property while they work on obtaining a special exception for the food truck park from the city. Once the exception is granted, the sale will finalize and construction will begin within 6 months.
The Rooftop at Riverside bar will be the main structure anchoring the future food truck park. It will feature two stories and 5,000 square feet of space to drink and dine. Final details, including operating hours and vendors, will be worked out during the development agreement phase. However, the current plan calls for eight food truck vendors along with recreation space.
