Imperial River Place

Developer and owner of Maria’s Restaurant, Tony Monsolillo, has some big plans in store for downtown Bonita Springs. His project will completely transform the area along Old 41, just South of East Terry Street. Imperial River Place consists of 5 buildings, one of which would be where Maria’s currently sits. The others would be scattered around a small park and parking lot between Old 41 Road and the east side of Center Avenue.

The two buildings furthest from Old 41 will be solely residential. The other three buildings will be both commercial and residential. There will be a total of 80 units ranging from one bedroom to 3 bedrooms and will start between $350,000-$375,000. The first floors of the mixed use buildings will consist of a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. The 30,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space has already been rented out. The developers aren’t releasing any names yet, but have hinted that they were “impressive names.”

The Developer

We got a chance to speak with Tony about the project at a Q&A he hosted recently at Shangri-La Springs. This project will completely transform the downtown area, so naturally, it has been very controversial among the locals. As residents of Downtown Bonita Springs, we were concerned that if this project were in the wrong hands, it could take away the small town charm that makes our city so desirable. At the same time, we are so excited to see our city reach its full potential.

After speaking with Tony, we knew this project was in the right hands. Tony has lived in Bonita Springs and understands what makes it so unique. He also has some impressive projects across the country in his portfolio. One thing in particular that stuck out to us about Tony is that his projects do not have walls. He prefers to build mixed-use buildings that the entire community will be able to utilize. Imperial River Place will be no different.
